Afognak Wilderness Lodge 2022

Afognak Wilderness Lodge is located on the western side of the north-south main logging road from Discoverer Bays to Kazakof. It is located northeast of the line from Back Bay to Malina Bay. The coastline is diverse, and you can find jagged riffs, beaches to valleys and tidal flats.

Afognak Wilderness Lodge is situated on the Afognak island, which is a beauty in itself. The mountain island is one of the Kodiak island groups. Since the island is close to the freshwater and saltwater, you get to see the best of both the worlds here.

It is a flavorful experience to fish in Afognak Wilderness Lodge. The common fishes that can be fished here are halibut, salmon, trout, crab, shellfish, and finfish. One can also catch sea bass, lingcod and Mary’s white king here. The saltwater species that you can find here are the giant Halibut, the flounder, long cod, sea bass, red snapper, greenling, and many more fish varieties.

It is a great experience not to know what you may have caught on your line. It could be any of the marine fishes that stray from the Pacific waters. If you are not an angler or you want to rest your arm then fish in the low tide. You can get some mussels, octopus, starfish, jellyfish, periwinkles, sea urchins and many other varieties of fishes.
