This beautiful lake located on the Colorado River along the Arizona-California border, is a twenty-thousand-acre impoundment. The fishing activities on the lake are not the only attraction here. The primary fish breeds here are the Largemouth Bass, Smallmouth Bass, Channel Catfish, Flathead Catfish, Black Crappie, Rainbow Trout, Bluegill, Redear Sunfish and Striped Bass.

Anglers above the age of 70 years and those who have stayed in Arizona for a consecutive period of twenty-five years also qualify for a free license. Although the most time of the year is a good time to fish in Lake Havasu, fishing picks up in the spring especially when the water temperature warms from low 60s to upper 80s in the early March up to May.
Using plastic baits such as those that resemble worms, frogs and lizards work well while fishing. For best results and to take home a big fishing bag, anglers must fish around the weed beds, vegetation, boat docking areas, and artificial marine habitats.
