Disney World 2022

Disney World Fishing Info

Walt Disney World is a full-service resort that also offers a top-of-the-line bass fishing experience to vacationers. There are several ways of fishing in Disney World. You can book a guided fishing excursion for a couple of hours. You can also fish from the docks at either the Fort Wilderness Resort or Port Orleans Resort.

All the fishing in Disney World is catch-and-release. A guided fishing excursion can be enjoyed by everyone regardless of age or fishing skills. Whether you are a refined or an amateur angler, you are sure to have an experience of a lifetime bass fishing.

You can opt for either a 2-hour or 4-hour guided excursion. An excursion package comes with a 21-foot Sun Tracker pontoon boat, which can carry up to five people. If you are a solo angler, you can book an afternoon guided excursion at a discounted rate.

There are several other goodies that you’ll get from Disney World fishing excursion, including:

  • An experienced guide
  • Tackle
  • Rod and reel
  • Non-alcoholic drinks only
  • One year BASS (Bass Anglers Sportsman Society) membership.
  • Plastic and/or live bait. Note that NITRO boats don’t come with live bait.

Life jackets will also be provided, and every child aged 13 and below is required to always have one on for safety reasons. During the excursion, your captain and fishing guide can teach you and your family how to cast and reel in your fish once hooked. Your guide may also help you bait your hooks, select the best bass lures and unhook your catch after you reel them into the boat.

You are allowed to bring your own fly fishing equipment if that’s your preference. During your excursion, you’ll primarily be fishing for largemouth bass. It is worth noting that this fish species is typically active in the early morning and late in the evening. Those are the best times to enjoy fishing. They usually nap during the day, and may not be so excited to bite.
