Paddled Mermaid Waters today with a new friend. Davis is new to kayaking. I tried my best to get him onto a fish. He tried very hard too! We paddled over 8kms today around Pacific Fair Shopping Centre as well as around the casino, using the fish finder to try and locate structure and dropoffs to target.
Davis came home empty handed after a good 5hrs paddle. 😞 I however finished up with one 53.5cm flattie, another little undersized one as well as a grunter and a Moses Perch.
I only managed to land the two flatties after pushing ahead for another 1hr paddle after Davis left. Despite a nasty storm rolling in I persevered and was rewarded for my efforts. It was pretty tough on the water today but I think we both enjoyed it. Davis asked to tag along next trip so pretty sure he at least enjoyed the peaceful paddle 🙂
